Jack and Sharon Self are planning to have a garage sale on Saturday, December 6th, from 8:00 until 2:00.

If you would like to have one, please call either of them at 699-5332, and maybe it can grow to be a neighborhood garage sale that would attract more shoppers.

Thank you.

We hope that everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall weather! Here are some of the happenings here in Steeplechase:

  • Our insurance policy is going to cover repairs for the storm damage to the entrance sign as well as the gazebo.
  • We’re in the process of choosing the best way to have the sign repaired, including a possible upgrade. If you have ideas for improvements, please contact us or join us at a board meeting.
  • Officer elections for the HOA board are coming up. Please submit any nominations using the “Contact Us” link at the top of the page or by contacting a current board member. You’re also welcome to nominate yourself!
  • The entrance lights were malfunctioning for a few days due to a short but were repaired by Outdoor Lighting Perspectives.

Remember: Halloween is coming up, so drive safely and keep an eye out for trick-or-treaters!

This month’s homeowners association board meeting will be in the gazebo on Tuesday, July 22nd, at 6:30. We’ll be looking at options for replacing our entrance sign that was damaged in the recent hail storm as well as going over other neighborhood business.

As always, all neighbors are welcome to attend!

June’s homeowner’s association board meeting will be Thursday, the 12th, at 7:00pm in the gazebo. If you have anything you’d like to bring to the board’s attention, this is a great time to do it!

Our HOA board meetings are usually held the second Thursday of the month, but due to scheduling conflicts this month’s will be held on Thursday the 15th at 6:30pm in the gazebo. If you have interests or concerns you’d like to bring to the board in person, this is a great time to do so. Of course, you can always email us.

Also, we continue to look for volunteers to help out with the Welcome, Decoration, and Architectural committees. Get involved and help make the neighborhood a better place to live!

Thank you to all the residents who came out and joined us at our March meeting of the Steeplechase HOA board. We are always glad to hear from our neighbors, so contact us with your needs, wants, or just to tell us how you think things are going.

A few topics from this month’s meeting

  • There has been some interest in having speed bumps installed in the neighborhood to encourage drivers to slow down and keep our children, pets, and property safe.  Vice-president Alisa Bailey is looking into it.
  • To that same end, please observe the speed limit in the neighborhood and encourage your guests to do the same.
  • We’re looking to have the fence, entry sign, and gazebo cleaned and painted. We’re still collecting quotes and should vote shortly to select a business to perform the services.
  • We’re creating a private Steeplechase Facebook group. Look for an invitation in the near future.
  • Dues continue to come in. If you need to pay your current or back dues, contact us. We’re happy to work with you to get you current.
  • We’re looking to have a community yard sale when the weather warms up a little. If you’d like to offer input on the date for that or would like to be involved, contact us.

Want to help? Join a committee!

The more involved we are as neighbors, the better our neighborhood is going to be.We’re looking for volunteers for the following committees:

  1. Welcome/Social Committee
  2. Decoration Committee
  3. Architectural Committee

If you’re interested in helping out, call Jack Self at 422-2920 or reach the board via the contact form.

Feel free to join us at the gazebo this Thursay, March 13th at 6:30 for an open board meeting.

We’ll see you there!

Please acknowledge that Bill and Judy Merritt, who are not on the board, have repaired our gazebo light. It now comes on at dark and goes off at sunrise like it should. They have not requested any reimbursements for their expenses and it required work on a tall ladder! They are a fantastic family to have in this neighborhood!
Thank you, Bill and Judy!

Please acknowledge that Alisa Bailey has worked above and beyond the call of duty to gather all of the quotes and doing research on the performances and reputations of the contractors who lit up our entrance. She also got the bids on the landscaping maintenance and specified what was to be done. She is our vice president and has been outstanding in getting things done!
Thank you, Alisa!

Wanda Thompson has sent out reminders of balances due and has been working with people in such a friendly, yet professional way, to increase collections. These dues are so vital to our keeping the value of our houses up!
Thank you, Wanda!

J.P. Stephens is making our web site so nice and updating it with entrance pictures, news and messages, so that you may stay informed and be able to communicate with us!
Thank you, J.P.!

Come out to the gazebo this  Saturday, February 22, from 1pm to 3pm for our neighborhood block party. The forecast is calling for sunny skies with a high of 67 degrees–perfect weather to stroll down the street and get to know your neighbors. Come on out and enjoy this beautiful spring weather and celebrate the fact that it no longer looks (and feels) like this:

Steeplechase-in-the-snowSee you Saturday!

If you’ve come home any time after dark lately, hopefully you’ve enjoyed seeing the new lights for our entrance sign and for the trees that line the central island. The lamps are LED which are guaranteed to last for years to come and use far less power than incandescent, halogen, or even compact fluorescent bulbs. That means less money spent on electricity bills  and more to use for other projects improving the neighborhood!

Also, be sure to put our neighborhood block party on your calendar! We’ll be at the gazebo on Saturday, February 22, from 1pm – 3pm. Come out to get to know your neighbors and enjoy some tasty snacks!
